Pure electric vehicles (PEVs) are currently garnering plenty of attention from OEMs and suppliers thanks to a host of positive drivers and the progress of enabling technologies. Due to a convergence of key factors, the sector is attracting strong venture capital interest in nascent firms providing PEV technology. However, technological and infrastructural barriers must be overcome before PEVs achieve mainstream acceptance on a global scale.
